French Lessons
Zoe, our Language Learners teacher develops small structured French classes which are planned carefully each week. For aged 0-3 years the sessions are a mix of fun, interactive language based activities, designed for babies and toddlers.
The sessions are about exposing toddlers to the language through exploration & play. Babies and Toddlers will learn via a combination of sounds and activities delivered through action songs, rhymes, stories, role play and fun craft activities. Most importantly the toddlers will learn at their own pace. Parent/Carer participation is important. Not only do they become involved, babies and toddlers become more confident and less inhibited; a great 'social' occasion as well as opportunity for Parents/Carers to explore & learn as well.
The programme concentrates on concepts the toddler is already familiar with in everyday life, covering 14 topics. Therefore he or she is not learning a new concept with a new language but a new language while doing or talking about something they know.
For children aged 3 to preschool age we teach a unique programme developed specifically for this young age group based around 2 lovely fun characters: Matou and Tounette (French Programme) and Milo and Mapi (Spanish Programme).
Learning a foreign language in nursery is fun, revolving around games, songs and rhymes, without any pressure. The more fun it is, the more children will acquire without realising and take it in their stride. Early foreign language learning can reinforce literacy skills and nurture enthusiasm. Language development is at its most rapid at this age group. Language learning comes easily to the very young, stimulating their imagination.
Science Lessons for Pre School
Scientots has an extensive programme of unique and exciting science workshops for inquisitive minds. We cover a range of scientific topics, from bugs and bubbles to dinosaurs and digestion! Exciting experiments enable groups of pre-school little ones to develop their problem solving, communication and understanding of the world around them through fun science! Workshops can also be tailor-made to suit your setting.
Each workshop is linked to the EYFS, making observations of those magical moments of scientific discovery easy to capture and link to the children’s developmental journey. Following feedback from Ofsted, each workshop has a fun “What to do next” activity, which can extend the children’s learning at home or within the nursery setting.
Health and Safety is taken extremely seriously at Scientots. All our tried and tested workshops have full risk assessments and activities are age appropriate for your little ones. All Scientots staff have enhanced DBS checks and are fully insured.
Meeting animals & large insects!

Zoolab is booked to visit our pre-school room 3 times per year. They bring the most amazing creatures for the children to hold, stroke and investigate closely.
